As you launch the MacSonik PDF Manager Tool, you will find the screen as displayed below:
Software Working Process
First, download and install the MacSonik PDF Manager for Mac. The tool will help you Split, Merge, Lock, Unlock, and Convert your PDF file(s) or folder(s). Let us see how.
Split Larger PDF Files Into Smaller PDFs
In the first interface of the tool, select the Split option to split a single PDF into multiple PDF files.
Click on the Select File or Select Folder button to add the required PDF Files/Folder.
Next, browse for the desired PDF File/Folder and click the Open button.
Once you have added the PDFs, you can also remove a specific file or all the added files using the Remove/Remove All button. Click Next to proceed ahead.
Next, choose either of the Split Options:
- Split by Range: This option helps you specify the pages you want to split. Select From, To, and the number of pages in which you want to split the information.
- Split by Size: Select this option to split the PDF files according to the sizes(KB).
- Split by Number of Pages: This option allows you to split the PDF file according to the number of pages.
- Split by Even Pages: Using this option, you can separate only even pages of PDF files as new PDFs.
- Split by Odd Pages: Choose this option to split the odd pages of the PDF file into a new PDF.
Tick the Save Attachments in Sub Folder option to save attachments into the sub-folder.
Check the Edit MetaData checkbox to edit Metadata such as Author, Subject, Title, Keywords, Creation date, and Modification date.
After adding all this, click on the Split button to complete the process.
Once the process is completed, click on the OK button.
Merge Multiple PDF Files into Single PDF
Click on the Merge panel to add/merge multiple PDF files into one PDF.
Click on the Select File/Select Folder option to select PDF files you wish to merge.
Choose and select any two or more PDF files to add and click the Open button.
Once PDF files are added, check all PDFs to merge and click on Next to proceed.
Next, check the Edit MetaData checkbox and you can edit information like Author Name, Title, Subject, Creation Date, Modification, and Keywords.
You can also assign a Custom Folder Name where the merged PDF file will be saved.
Check the Save Attachments in Subfolder option to save attachment files in a subfolder.
Finally, click the Merge button to merge the added PDF files. Once merge is complete click OK.
Convert PDF Files to DOCX on Mac
Tap on the Convert panel to convert PDF files to any of the 15+ file formats.
Click on the Select File(s)/Select Folders button to add the required PDF file/folder you want to add and press Open.
Check the added PDF files and click on Next to proceed.
Next, expand the drop-down list and choose DOCX as the saving format.
You can choose the Save Attachments Separately option to save attachments separately in a separate folder.
Click Convert to start the conversion process. Press OK, once the conversion is done.
Convert PDF Files to JPEG on Mac
Follow Steps 1 to 3 (similar to Convert PDF to DOCX), then do as directed below:
If you want to convert PDF files to image formats such as JPEG format, choose JPEG as the saving format from the drop-down menu.
You can also add Pixel and DPI for the given format. Also, you can set Image Quality for the Output.
Further, you can select the Save Attachments Seperately to save attachment files in a separate folder.
Lastly, click on the Convert button to start the PDF to JPEG conversion process.
Lock PDF Files on macOS
Click on the Lock Panel to set passwords and protect your PDF files.
Click on the Select File/Select Folder option to add PDF files to the tool.
Add the desired PDF file you want to lock, then click the Open button to proceed.
Tick the added PDFs and click on Next to proceed ahead.
First, choose the Encryption Level.
Next, you can add the Owner Password and the User Password.
Further, you can select options like ‘Allow Content Copying or Extraction’, ‘Allow Changing the Document’, ‘Allow Low-Resolution Printing’, ‘Allow Authoring Comments and Form Fields’, and others to customize PDF protection.
Also, you can Edit Metadata like Author, Title, Subject, Creation Date, Modification Date, and Keywords.
Select the Save Attachment in Sub Folder Option to save Attachments separately in the Subfolder.
Except this, select either of the options: Add Passwords for Unprotected PDF(s) & Change Password for Protected PDF(s) or Add Passwords for Unprotected Files Only.
After you are done with all this, click the Lock button to finally add passwords and protect the PDF file.
Unlock PDF Files on macOS
If you want to remove password protection from a PDF file, then just click the Unlock panel.
Click on the Select File/Select Folder button to add the specific PDF file/folder you want to Unlock.
Choose the required PDF file and click Open to add.
Enter the pre-added password for the selected PDF files and click the OK button.
Once the encrypted files are added, tick the added files and press Next to proceed.
Next, check the Edit MetaData checkbox to modify the Metadata such as Author, Title, Subject, Creation Date, Modification Date, and Keywords.
Furthermore, select the Save Attachments in Sub Folder to save attachments in a separate Subfolder.
Next, in the Password section choose either of the options:
- Apply Existing User password(s) to Output PDF
- Apply No User Password to Output PDF
- Apply New User Password to Output PDF- If you choose this option, you get to enter a new user password.
After performing the steps as guided, you can click the Unlock button.
Once the process is completed, click the OK button.
Lastly, click on View to see the saved Output PDF file, click on Home to return to the Home page, and click on Download Report to download the conversion report.
